The Howe Sound Secondary School Dry Grad Organizing Committee this week distributed $10,000 in scholarships and community donations through the HSSS Grad Class of 2011 Legacy Fund.
Twelve $500 scholarships were presented on Tuesday (June 14) at the HSSS Scholarship Awards Night to six male and six female students in the HSSS Graduating Class of 2011. As well, a donation to the Squamish Rotary Club's Dan Savage Memorial Fund for $1,000 was presented to the Savage family and Squamish Rotary.
In addition, donations were made to the Squamish Community Foundation ($1,000), Squamish Rotary ($500), Big Brothers and Big Sisters Sea to Sky ($500), B.C. Guide Dogs Association ($500) and Room to Read Canada program ($250), organizers said.
