Scheduled night closures of Hwy. 99 between Squamish and Whistler have been cancelled until further notice.Currently, no closures will be in effect until after May 13. Until May 13, expect regularly scheduled 15-minute and 30-minute delays from Monday to Friday.

Highway crews may need to use some night-time closures between May 14 and June 15. If closures do become absolutely necessary, they will notify the traveling public.

During the week of April 24, the project team conducted a trial to determine if the work between Squamish and Whistler could be completed using 15-minute day-time delays instead of night-time closures. The test was a success.

The Seasonal Travel Planner, available at www.seatoskyhighwayimprovements.ca, provides an overview of the possible delays for the spring closure construction season April 21 to June 15. Because many factors can affect the construction schedule, we post confirmed closures for the upcoming week in the weekly schedule, also available at www.seatoskyhighwayimprovements.ca. You can check the weekly schedule for the upcoming week after 2 p.m. on Friday afternoon. You can also call 1-877-4-SAFE99 (1-877-472-3399). Operators answer calls between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Outside these hours, a recorded message provides callers with the latest delay and closure information.
