Driver spotted with open liquor

On Tuesday (Aug. 10) at 2:40 a.m., a member pulled into a service station to fuel up the police vehicle. As he started to gas up he noticed a group of four get into a vehicle nearby and start to drive off.

The vehicle was flagged over as the officer noted one of the occupants drinking from an open liquor container.

The 21-year-old male driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol, failed a roadside screening and was returned to the detachment where two breath tests showed him well over the legal limit.

The young man will now appear in court on Sept. 22 to answer to a charge of Impaired Driving.
