The developer proposing to build a "national climbing centre" as part of a mixed-use development near the Upper Mamquam Blind Channel is planning a public information meeting next week to gather input on the proposal.
Kingswood Group has submitted a rezoning application for two parcels of land near Scott Crescent that would include "low- to mid-rise apartments and townhomes," as well as a commercial component centering on an indoor climbing centre with office space, as well as a public waterfront walkway along the Blind Channel and other trail connections.
"These will contribute significantly to the District's [of Squamish] long-term goal of improving public access to the Mamquam Blind Channel and improving public access to Smoke Bluffs Park," states a notice from the developer.
The meeting, which will take place next Thursday (March 31) at 7 p.m. at the Squamish Adventure Centre, is not a public hearing but is required by the District as part of the rezoning application process.
