Ingram to present free lecture at Quest

Talk by well-known science writer, broadcaster part of commencement week

A well-known science writer and broadcaster will examine the parallels between artistic and scientific creativity in a talk at Quest University this week.

Jay Ingram, host of the Discovery Channel's daily science program Daily Planet and former host of CBC Radio's Quirks and Quarks, will lecture on the topic "Watson and Crick/Lennon and McCartney: Comparing the Creative Process in Science and the Arts" on Thursday (April 28) at 7:30 p.m. at the Quest multipurpose room. Admission is free.

The lecture is part of Quest's 2011 commencement week, which also includes the university's first-ever commencement ceremony and the Dancing Bear Music Festival on Saturday (April 30).

Ingram has a Masters degree in microbiology from the University of Toronto and is the chair of the Science Communications program at The Banff Centre. He has four honorary doctorate degrees, and in 2009 was appointed as a Member of the Order of Canada for his contributions and leadership in communicating science. He is a three-time winner of the Canadian Science Writers' Award for his books.
