On Sunday (June 22) at around 10:30 p.m., B.C. Ambulance reported that a man had suffered a stab wound in the area around the A&W on Hunter Place, RCMP Staff Sgt. Brian Cumming said in a statement. The victim was intoxicated and was unable to provide a coherent account of how he became injured, but it is believed he was involved in a dispute with an unknown man who had fled before police or ambulance personnel arrived. There were no witnesses to the incident and nobody matching the description provided by the victim was located in the area despite extensive police patrols. The victim was treated at Squamish General Hospital and released.
Warrant executed
On Wednesday, July 18, police executed a search warrant at a home in the 41300 block of Kingswood Road in relation to an ongoing fraud investigation. The suspect was arrested and evidence of the alleged offence was seized. Charges of fraud, use of stolen credit cards and possession of stolen property have been laid.
Bike recovered
On Thursday (June 19), an officer conducted a traffic stop at Highway 99 and Finch Drive on a vehicle that had a bicycle hanging out of the trunk. When questioned, the driver told police he was unable to identify the person from whom he bought the bike. The serial number on the bike was found to be associated with a bike that had been reported stolen last Nov. 24 from the 1300 block of Pemberton Avenue. The male was arrested and faces a charge of possession of stolen property.
Stereo stolen
On Friday (June 20), two vehicles parked at Sea to Sky Ford were broken into overnight. Items stolen included an in-dash stereo from one of the vehicles.
Drivers ticketed
On Saturday and Sunday (June 20 and 21), RCMP members conducted traffic enforcement a various locations along Highway 99, resulting in more than 40 violation tickets being issued and six vehicles behind impounded for excessive speed.
Items stolen
On Sunday (June 22), police received a report of a break and enter in the 40400 block of Park Crescent. The house was rummaged through but only a Blueray DVD player and U.S. $60 were stolen. Jewelry and electronics in plain view were not stolen. No suspects have been identified.
Home entered
On Sunday (June 22), a home in the 2000 block of Diamond Road was reportedly broken into. The house was rummaged through and stolen were a Haier 32-inch TV, a Canon 100HS camera and some morphine tablets were stolen. Other items in plain view were not taken. No suspects have been identified.
