Invasive species certification workshops planned

The Sea to Sky Invasive Species Council (SSISC) is offering a new set of workshops next month with the goal of helping those working in the horticulture industry become certified at recognizing and minimizing the impacts of invasive plant species.

The Sea to Sky Invasive Species Council (SSISC) is offering a new set of workshops next month with the goal of helping those working in the horticulture industry become certified at recognizing and minimizing the impacts of invasive plant species.

So far, 39 people representing 14 different horticulture-related companies have participated in the program. The next set of workshops begins May 31 in Pemberton, with workshops planned in Squamish on Thursday, June 2, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m., and Tuesday, June 14, from 8 to 10 a.m. All three workshops are to take place at the Adventure Centre. Workshops are also planned in Whistler on June 7, 8 and 9.
