Jaws of life used to free woman

Squamish fire rescue responded to a motor vehicle accident on Tuesday (Oct. 24) at the intersection of Squamish Valley Road and Paradise Valley Road. An SUV went off the road and rolled into a ditch on its side, leaving the female driver trapped.

Squamish fire rescue responded to a motor vehicle accident on Tuesday (Oct. 24) at the intersection of Squamish Valley Road and Paradise Valley Road. An SUV went off the road and rolled into a ditch on its side, leaving the female driver trapped. Her passenger escaped uninjured. Firefighters used the jaws of life to get the woman out and she was transported to Squamish General Hospital.

The extent of her injuries are unknown.

Cheakamus Canyon/Hwy 99 crash: charges faced

RCMP responded to an accident on Highway 99 and Cheakamus Canyon on Friday (Oct. 13). A 40-year-old driving a dump truck faced charges for driving with out due care.
