Squamish resident Sheila Allen is peeling back the layers to leadership.
In a six-workshop series, the current executive director of Howe Sound Women's Centre will teach participants how to improve leadership abilities and develop an understanding of the changing nature of the role. The workshops will cover management practices, describe leadership theories and discuss skill sets required. Held at the Howe Sound Inn, the non-profit employee sessions will encompass a variety of readings, presentations, videos and exercises.
Allen has decades of experience as an educator, coach and consultant. She holds an undergraduate degree in marketing and human resource management and a Masters of Business Administration majoring in leadership and organizational change.
The first lesson was held on Monday (May 7). Future sessions take place on May 14 and 21 and June 4, 11, and 18, all running from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Breakfast and lunch is included in a fee.
