The founder of several successful technology companies is to be the keynote speaker at an event next week exploring ways the Sea to Sky Corridor can become a leader in innovative technologies in the 21st century.
Judy Estrin, who three times has been named to Fortune Magazine's list of 50 most powerful women in America, will speak next Thursday (April 7) at an afternoon and evening event hosted by the Whistler Forum and the forum's Leadership Sea to Sky Cohort No. 7.
The event, titled "Taking Leadership for Innovation," will include dinner, a presentation and an interactive media dialogue. It takes place on April 7 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Quest University.
Estrin is CEO of JLABS LLC, formerly known as Packet Design Management, which she founded in 2000. Before that she founded Bridge Communications, Network Computing and Precept Software. In 1998, Cisco Systems acquired Precept, and Estrin became Cisco's chief technology officer in 2000.
The holder of degrees in math and computer science from UCLA, and in electrical engineering from Stanford, Estrin currently sits on the board of the Walt Disney Co. and Packet Design Inc., and on the advisory councils of Stanford's School of Engineering and Bio-X Initiative.
