Area residents' comments are being sought on a proposed gravel mine at a site along Howe Sound, 22 kilometres southwest of Squamish.
Oct. 19 is the deadline for comments on the proposed Burnco Aggregate Project at McNab Creek. According to the company's application filed under the Canadian and B.C. environmental assessment acts, the company would remove an estimated 1 million tonnes of gravel per year during a projected lifespan of 15 to 20 years.
Open houses on the application were staged in Gibsons on Oct. 1 and West Vancouver on Oct. 2. For information or to comment on the proposal, visit www2.gov.bc.ca/govtogetherbc and click on the "Environment" tab.
