There will be a public memorial Saturday, Jan. 17, for a Squamish mother and son who died in a car accident Jan. 2, just outside of Lillooet.
Patricia Gayle Donohue 46, and McCaul Harrison Arthur Sage, 7, were on their way back from their family cottage at Bridge Lake when the accident occurred.
Donohue worked for Squamish development company Bethel Land Corporation and Sage was a student at Mamquam Elementary School.
A memorial fund has been established in Sage’s name and contributions can be made to [email protected].
Rob Sage and his children Lyle, 11 and Roan, 4, survived the accident and have been released from hospital.
The service will be held at the Heritage Railway Park in Squamish on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 5 p.m., with light refreshments to follow.
Another well-known Squamish local person, Andre Genest (born in 1985), died in a separate highway accident on Vancouver Island Jan. 4. Services for Genest will be held Jan. 17 at 1 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagle Hall, 921-1st Avenue in Ladysmith.
