RCMP say the overdue hiker, who local authorities have been searching for since July 9, has been found in Garibaldi Provincial Park.

Police do not release the name of found folks, however, hiker Daniel Ring was reported missing July 9 from the park after being dropped off at Elfin Lakes trailhead on July 7.

"Squamish RCMP thanks our partners, Coastal Fire, who were responding by helicopter to a report of fire when they located the hiker. Police have since connected the hiker with his family," reads an RCMP news release.

“This is an extremely good ending to this story, Coastal Fire’s sighting brought relief to detachment members and staff in the office today, there was literal cheer,” says Cpl. Angela Kermer of Squamish RCMP in the release.
