The school district has added the equivalent of about 11 full-time teachers this year to satisfy the 2016 Supreme Court ruling on class size and composition, said Supt. Lisa McCullough.
These teachers were added to address restored language under Article 75, which speaks of support to special needs students.
In a separate effort, the school district added 10 more teachers to its on-call list since September to assist with absences.
“We’ve been able to fill every job that we have posted, which is unheard of right now,” said McCullough.
Medical leaves and absences, even for French Immersion, have all been filled, she added.
“We are still ahead of the game – touch wood,” she said.
