A patient is in serious condition following a crash around the 41100-block of Government Road involving a motorcycle and a vehicle around noon today, Aug. 25, according to BC Emergency Health Services.
Ground crew paramedics rushed to the scene and brought the patient to Squamish Airport, where the individual was then airlifted to a Lower Mainland hospital, said Shannon Miller, spokesperson for the organization.
Squamish RCMP Sgt. Sascha Banks told The Chief that the driver of the vehicle had turned into a location off Government Road and crossed into the oncoming lane.
The motorcyclist collided with the vehicle and was the one airlifted to hospital, she said. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and was cooperating with the investigation.
Traffic was backed up.
