Music festival pass pre-sale set

Locals can purchase single-day tickets this weekend

If you missed the 12-hour sale of locals only Squamish Valley Music Festival (SVMF) tickets earlier this month, here's your second chance.

On Saturday (Feb. 22), presale of single-day passes will be sold to Squamish residents at the Squamish Adventure Centre from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residents who purchase a single-day pass during the event will receive a complimentary ticket to the festival on Thursday, Aug. 7, festival organizers said in a statement.

Residents who cannot produce ID will not be able to purchase at this time, officials warned.

On Feb. 6, residents started camping outside the Adventure Centre's door at 6 a.m. to get their hands on the hot commodity. During the time period just over 1,000 passes were sold. Galileo Coffee benefitted from the lineups, selling out on their stock before the end of the day.

Single-day passes will go for $149. Camping and parking passes will also be available. A driver's licence with a Squamish address or a utility bill with a Squamish address and the matching name on a photo ID will be accepted. Eligible areas include Squamish, Brackendale, Britannia Beach, Garibaldi Highlands and students with valid Quest University cards. Each individual can purchase up to eight tickets.
