Deacon Rennie Nahanee receives his ancestral name Skaghahkin in a traditional Squamish Nation ceremony, alongside his wife Emma and son Chris (not pictured), Feb. 24 at St. Paul’s Indian Catholic Church in North Vancouver. Nahanee, who works with the Archdiocese of Vancouver, will travel to Rome in June to make a presentation on Indigenous issues at a conference of Catholic bishops.
