New regional manager named

Glacier Media, the parent company of the Whistler Question, has named Whistler resident Sarah Strother as regional manager for Glacier's Sea To Sky area publications, including the Whistler Question, the Squamish Chief and Whistler: the Magazine.

Glacier Media, the parent company of the Whistler Question, has named Whistler resident Sarah Strother as regional manager for Glacier's Sea To Sky area publications, including the Whistler Question, the Squamish Chief and Whistler: the Magazine.

Strother has been director of special projects for Glacier for the past two years, involved with sales for the Official Vancouver 2010 Olympic Souvenir Program and overseeing the Glacier Lounge during the Olympics.

Prior to her involvement with Glacier, she held a number of positions of increasing seniority over a 10-year career with Hollinger.

Her last role was as Vice President responsible for Hollinger's BC Newspaper Group totalling over 40 daily and weekly titles including the Prince George Citizen and the Kamloops Daily News.

Strother also has an extensive background in national sales as the Western Canada sales manager for the Hollinger/Southam national sales division (representing metro dailies, community dailies and weeklies), the Western Canada sales manager for the National Post and the Western United Sales sales manager for the Chicago Sun-Times.

She is a graduate of Trinity College, University of Toronto holding an honours degree in English literature.

She, her husband John and their two children have been living in Whistler since 2007.

"We are thrilled to have Sarah working for us in the Sea to Sky region," said Peter Kvarnstrom, vice president of B.C. newspaper operations for Glacier.

"Sarah's extensive background in newspapers and marketing will serve the Question and Chief very well in the years to come."
