All Candidates Debate
Squamish Chamber of Commerce is hosting an all candidates debate on Tuesday, April 25 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Eagle Eye Theatre at Howe Sound Secondary.
Come out and hear what the BC Liberal, Green Party, BC NDP Party and Independent candidates say they will do for West Vancouver-Sea to Sky if elected as MLA in the provincial election, set for May 9.
Home Show
The Sea to Sky Home Show is arriving in Squamish from April 21 to 23 at the West Coast Railway Heritage Park. Dozens of exhibitors from a variety of companies and informative seminars will be included, as well as guest speakers including real estate expert Todd Talbot, from HGTV series Love It or List it Vancouver. Exhibitors include Peak Ventures, Precision Gutters, Rack Fashions, RDC Fine Homes, Rona and Skyside Engineering Construction. The event is kid-friendly and also includes demonstrations and prize giveaways.
Fund for families
A fundraising campaign has been launched to support the families of hikers killed on Mount Harvey. On April 8, five experienced hikers from the Vancouver MJM Hiking Club were killed when the snowy overhang they were crossing collapsed.
A Go Fund Me campaign, titled Fallen Victims on Mount Harvey, aims to collect funds to help the families arrange and attend funerals.
Making connections
Stop by Norman Rudy’s Pub on Wednesday, April 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. to see what Rodan + Fields Skincare brand, business and products are all about. Women in Squamish are invited to come out and get information in a comfortable setting from other women who have been in the business for years.
“I hope this inspires other women to know that working from home, providing for your kids and being an entrepreneur is possible... to believe in yourself,” said Christina Petry, the event’s organizer.
