7mesh teams with Lululemon
It’s big news for a local company. 7mesh Industries, a Squamish-based cycling clothing company, is teaming up with Lululemon to “push the boundaries in advanced technical apparel.”
“Working in close partnership with Lululemon’s Whitespace team is an incredible opportunity for us. We’re excited to push the state of the art together in co-creating the most advanced technical performance apparel available,” said 7mesh CEO Tyler Jordan in a press release.
Lululemon’s Whitespace team creates new fabric, does product testing and works on new concepts.
“We’re excited to partner with industry leaders like 7mesh, building deep technical capabilities that will enable us to scale the cadence of innovation we deliver to market,” said Lululemon chief operating officer Stuart Haselden.
Alongside the partnership, Lululemon made a minority investment in 7mesh.
WFLNG office reopens
Woodfibre LNG and FortisBC have reopened their Squamish Community Office downtown after a deliberate fire in November forced the companies to move to another location.
The fire was set in the early morning of Nov. 3 and the arson is still under investigation by the RCMP.
“On behalf of Woodfibre LNG and FortisBC, we’d like to thank everyone who helped get us back into our Community Office,” said Byng Giraud of Woodfibre LNG in a press release.
No arrests have been made for setting the fire.
In November, surveillance video was obtained of the suspect, who is believed to be between 5-foot 9-inches and 6-foot one-inches tall and weigh 170 to 190 pounds.
It isn’t possible to tell if the suspect is a man or a woman based on the video, but he or she was wearing a dark rain jacket, jeans and boots, and was on foot on Cleveland Avenue at 4:30 a.m. on Nov. 3.
The person could have been burned from getting too close to the fire. The Community Office is located at 38134 Cleveland Ave.

Travelling from tanneries along rivers in India, to some of the largest jean manufacturing factories in China, Angelo guides a journey by river to reveal the dark side of the global fashion industry.
Angelo will be hosting a Q&A after the screening.
Tickets are available at the BAG and Xoco Westcoast Chocolatiers.
Free tuition
Families can give Squamish Waldorf School’s experiential learning a try this summer when the school is offering three months tuition for free to students aged 11 to 13.
“There are many parents out there who simply know that their child could benefit from a different learning environment and different challenges at school.
Perhaps he or she is a more hands-on learner,” said principal Christine Martin, acknowledging the school would like to add more social diversity to its lead class. “Sometimes it’s something as simple as finding that child a better educational “fit.’”
The value of the free three-month trial is $1,890.
Horse fundraiser
Second Chance Cheekye Ranch will be hosting a fundraiser and barbecue on July 15 at Cheekye Ranch.
This is an opportunity for the community to learn about the horse rescue initiative.
There will be music throughout the day, pony rides, food, an opportunity to meet the horses, a silent auction, door prizes and a 50/50 draw.
