The Squamish Chamber of Commerce has opened nominations for the annual Business Excellence Awards and announced the event date.
In a news release, the Squamish Chamber announced this year’s event is on Nov. 3 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. and the 11 categories of awards. This year’s event is at the CN Roundhouse and Conference Centre located at the Railway Museum of British Columbia on Government Road.
“The Squamish Business Excellence awards recognize and celebrate the outstanding achievements of local businesses and individuals who contribute to the economic and social well-being of Squamish,” reads the release about the upcoming event.
This year’s awards include:
- Bill Manson Citizen Award
- Young Entrepreneur
- Indigenous Business
- Environmental Impact
- New Business
- Small Business
- Medium/Large Business
- Arts and Entertainment
- Community Builder (for profit)
- Community Builder (non-profit)
- Business Innovation
“You can nominate yourself, your business, or another deserving candidate by submitting your recommendation on our nomination/voting platform. The deadline for nominations is Oct. 6th, 2023,” notes the release.
After nominations are in, finalists will be selected by a panel of judges and through a public voting process beginning on Oct. 16.
Some of the changes for this year’s award categories include the Indigenous Business recognition, Arts and Entertainment recognition, and the Community Builder award for both profit and non-profit businesses.
