A home in Richmond that is currently under construction caught fire last night.
Richmond Fire-Rescue responded just before 2 a.m. on April 16 to a call of a structure fire on Granville Avenue, between No. 4 and No. 5 roads.
Firefighters battled a large fire at the rear of the house, which also affected the hedge next to the home.
The house is in the late stages of construction, therefore it was not occupied at the time of the incident.
No injuries to bystanders or staff were reported.
Fire investigator staff are on the scene and conducting a preliminary investigation.
No cause has been determined yet.
"We’d like to remind the public to be sure they cut back or remove flammable growth close their homes to limit the spread of fires as we approach the dry season," said Grant Wyenberg, assistant deputy chief at Richmond Fire-Rescue.
