Squamish music lovers depressed about the loss of our hometown summer festival may be heartened by the Pemberton Music Festival line up, released Tuesday.

Veteran rockers Pearl Jam lead the eclectic music line-up that also includes rappers Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube as well as Canadian rock band the Arkells, which won Juno Awards in 2015 for group and rock album of the year, and 1980s arena rocker Billy Idol.

Comedy acts include 1970s comedy duo Cheech and Chong, Craig Robinson and the Nasty Delicious, and Maria Bamford.

A few changes to the festival this year, which runs July 14 to 17 in Pemberton, include a different camping strategy, the festival’s website says.

“Due to logistical issues with parking and camping last year, we knew we had to change up some things, so we’ve worked hard over the last few months to implement a new camping system that will determine where you're going to park before you arrive, help you find your campsite, set up your campsite, etc.,” reads a statement on the website.

The festival has also done away with its Go Green Pass, which was a fee for walking or biking in to the festival. “Due to logistical reasons, we have eliminated the need to purchase a Go Green Pass if you plan on biking or walking,” the site announced.

Tickets go on sale Friday. For more information go to pembertonmusicfestival.com.
