With the coming of Spring, many people start Spring cleaning in their homes.

Pitch-In Canada Week aims to see people doing the same thing for their communities.

The District of Squamish has declared April 24 to 30 as Squamish's official Pitch-In Canada Week, and you can help by picking a street or area in Squamish for your group or family to clean up.

April 29 and 30 are also free disposal days at the landfill site for Squamish residents to dispose of non-hazardous residential waste.

As well, the Brackendale Owners and Tenants Association (BOATA) is encouraging residents of Brackendale to get out and clean up the neighbourhood together on April 29.

Carney's Waste Systems and the DOS have also teamed up for the event, offering a colouring contest open to kids from kindergarten to grade 7.

The theme "Keep Sea to Sky Country Clean" should be on posters no larger than 11 x 17, with the child's name printed on the back.

Works will be collected at each school on April 20. The school with the highest participation will receive $100 donation.

For more info call DOS operations at 604-815-6868.
