Assault, youth centre mischief and theft from vehicle

Assault 

A 50-year-old man from Mount Currie was arrested in relation to the assault of a 51-year-old woman whom police identified as the man’s girlfriend. 

An assault happened on Saturday, Jan. 10 in the 38000 block of Cleveland Avenue, and the suspect was arrested a short distance away, according to Squamish RCMP.

Generator stolen

A $600 portable generator was stolen from outside of a residence in the 37000 block of Loggers Lane sometime between 4 and 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11, according to police. Police questioned a potential suspect, but are awaiting additional information about the stolen generator.

Youth centre mischief 

A camera at the Youth Resource Centre on Carson Place was damaged Thursday, Jan. 8. Video surveillance showed a man damaging the camera with a lighter, police said. Police are examining video surveillance to help identify the subject.

Theft from vehicle

Gift cards were among items stolen from a vehicle while it was parked in an underground lot at the 1200 block of Main Street. No damage was done to the vehicle, so the vehicle may have been unlocked.
