B&E at dealership
A door was pried open and left ajar, and a vehicle left running outside the Chrysler dealership at 1180 Hunter Place on Wednesday, Feb. 25, according to Squamish RCMP. Police responded to an alarm at the location at 2:45 a.m. All vehicles were accounted for and nothing was stolen, police said.
Vending machine theft
Damage was caused to vending machines in the 1100 block of Industrial Road when a suspect attempted to break into them on Thursday, Feb. 26, according to police. A small number of coins were stolen. The incident is still under investigation.
Commercial B&E
Padlocks were cut to gain access to the Department of Fisheries and Oceans at 1120 Hunter Place on Thursday, Feb. 26, according to the RCMP. Although nothing appeared to be missing, the incident is still under investigation.
Stolen vehicle recovered
An abandoned red Chevy Silverado truck was found at Squamish Valley and McGee Roads on Thursday, Feb. 26, police said. The vehicle had been reported stolen, but there was no damage to the ignition or doors. An investigation is ongoing.
Porteau Cove collision
Alcohol was a factor in a collision when a driver of a southbound vehicle on Highway 99 crossed the centre line and collided with the rocks near the Porteau Cliffs on Friday, Feb. 27, at about 4:45 p.m. Although there were no injuries, an investigation is ongoing.
Abandoned truck
An abandoned truck with Alaska plates parked at the river crossing towards Lake Lovely Water was towed on Thursday Feb. 26, as it had been reportedly been sitting for weeks, police said.
