Garage break-in 

Three bikes worth roughly $20,000 and a dirt bike worth $1,500 were stolen from a garage in the 1600 block of McDonald Place, according the RCMP. Entry was gained through an unlocked side door during the night of Thursday, May 21. Police report no video surveillance system was in place. The incident is still being investigated by Squamish RCMP.

Break and enter

Two passports, $3,200 cash, a video-game console and a quarter ounce of marijuana were stolen from a home in the 38800 block Buckley Avenue on Monday, May 18, according to police. 

The front door of the home was pried open mid-morning while the residents were not home. The RCMP investigation is ongoing.   

 Impaired driver 

Police are recommending charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle after a driver at Nexen beach showed signs of impairment on Tuesday, May 19, according to Squamish RCMP.

Theft of vehicle

A Honda CRV belonging to an employee was stolen from the parking lot at the Sea to Sky Gondola on Wednesday, May 20. 

Recovered vehicle

A Honda Civic stolen from Langley was located by police on the side of the Sea to Sky highway near Valley Drive on Wednesday, May 20. The vehicle turned out to have been stolen earlier the same day, according to Squamish RCMP. An investigation is being conducted to determine if there is a link to the theft of the vehicle at the Sea to Sky Gondola.

Theft from auto/fraud

A vehicle was broken into on Brunswick Road on Wednesday, May 20. Fire suppression equipment, climbing gear and personal items including credit cards were stolen, and the credit cards were later used fraudulently in North Vancouver, Squamish RCMP reported. The investigation continues. 

 

Probation for possession

Jason Axworthy, 40, of Burnaby was found guilty of possession of a controlled substance (marijuana, cocaine and heroin) in relation to a vehicle stop for speeding that occurred on Highway 99 near Clarke Drive on Aug. 24, 2014, according to a report provided to Squamish RCMP. 

He was given a term of probation and required to pay a victim surcharge of $100.
