Assault with weapon
A man turned himself in to police and may face charges of assault with a weapon and uttering threats after an argument between two men at a home in the 38100 block of Harbourview Place on Wednesday, July 1, Squamish RCMP reported. The assailant was known to the victim but was not at the house when police arrived, according to RMCP.
Motorcyclist injured
A motorcycle rider was taken to hospital with minor injuries after an accident on Highway 99 on Thursday, July 2. The motorcycle was travelling northbound on the highway when it hit the barrier just north of Lions Bay. The bike flipped over the barrier and into the ditch, according to police.
B&E at school
Two suspects were arrested for break and enter after they broke into Don Ross Secondary School, on Saturday, July 4, police said. The two suspects were carrying school property and one suspect was found to be in breach of probation, according to the report.
Jewelry, bike stolen
Gold jewelry, a Giant mountain bike and food were stolen from a residence the 4000 block of Highway 99 in the week leading up to Thursday, July 2, according to police. Suspects broke in through a window, police said. The matter is still under investigation.
Cyclocross bike stolen
A green Devinci Tosca Cyclocross bike was stolen from a bike rack at the Sea to Sky Gondola between June 30 and July 3, according to Squamish RCMP. An investigation is on going.
Fuel stolen from plane
Fuel was stolen from a plane kept in a hangar at the Squamish Airport sometime overnight on Friday, July 3, according to Squamish RCMP. Roughly 10 gallons of fuel was drained out of the plane’s tank, police said.
B&E at clinic
A break-in occurred at a medical clinic in the 1300 block of Pemberton Avenue on Thursday, July 2, police said. Nothing seemed to be missing, but there were hypodermic needles and signs people had been squatting in the carport, police said.
Don’t park on highway
Police said they received several complaints of drivers parking in unsafe spots along Highway 99 in the areas of Brohm Lake and Murrin Park. Police remind visitors to abide by no parking signs and not to cross the highway unsafely.
