Woman injured in assault

A man was arrested and was found to be breaching his probation after Squamish RCMP responded to a report of an assault in progress in front of Wal-Mart on Wednesday, Feb. 3, police said.  A man was yelling at a woman there during an assault, according to the report.

Police located the suspect and the woman, who had visible injuries, according to RCMP. Charges have not yet been laid.   

 

Minor injuries in crash

A driver suffered a minor hand injury in a crash on Highway 99 at Lions Bay Avenue, on Sunday, Feb. 7, according to police. A northbound vehicle that had crossed the centre median and rolled over onto its roof was a write-off. A witness reported the vehicle was speeding through the winding curve before it lost control, according to police.

 

Theft at Shannon Falls

A wallet was stolen from an unlocked vehicle at Shannon Falls in the early afternoon of Monday, Feb. 1, according to Squamish RCMP. Credit and debit cards were later fraudulently used in Squamish, Surrey and Delta, police said.  The investigation is ongoing.

 

Lions Bay B&Es

Electronics, jewelry, artwork and miscellaneous papers were stolen in a residential daytime break and enter on Wednesday, Feb. 3 in the 300 block of Mountain Drive in Lions Bay, police said. No doors were damaged, according to the Squamish RCMP. It appeared the suspects entered through an unlocked door.  Forensic examination is under way with results still pending, police said.

Another residential break and enter in Lions Bay was reported on Friday, Feb. 5, according to police. The break-in occurred in the 100 block of Panorama Place sometime between Feb. 2 and 5. The front door had been pried open, according to RCMP.  Missing items include two HP Black laptops and a 42 inch Samsung TV. The results of the forensic examination in this case are pending.
