Gas theft
About $1,200 worth of gas was taken from the Lions Bay Works Yard on March 22, Squamish RCMP said. Surveillance video recovered from the works yard shows a man wearing an orange reflective work vest breaking in by disabling the entrance gate mechanism, opening the gate and entering the compound in a white Ford diesel truck with a long box. The man parked the truck in front of the gas and diesel pumps and stole 549 litres of diesel and 240 litres of gasoline before leaving. The file remains under investigation.

Saw found
A STIHL TS-420 gas powered stone cutter saw, worth approximately $1,000, was found on March 20 in the bushes near the Brennan Park campground on Loggers Lane, Squamish RCMP said. A man saw some orange colour sticking out from the bushes while walking down the road, and when he pulled the orange object out, it was a power saw. The saw is orange, white and black in colour. It appears well used, was covered in dust and has a bit of rust on the bottom. The police are hoping the owner claims the equipment.

Snowmobiles stolen
Two snowmobiles on a trailer were stolen overnight on March 20. They were taken from a parking lot at Garibaldi Way and Cheakamus Way, Squamish RCMP said. The trailer, which was hitched to the owner’s vehicle, appears to have been cut loose from the vehicle. The skidoos were a 2012 white Skidoo Summit Burton sled bearing B.C. licence plate 1C1007 (VIN 2BPSCEFCXFV000298) and a 2012 black sled with Quebec licence plate VX96296 (VIN 2BPSUKCA7CV000026). The 2012 trailer has a B.C. licence plate UVG22J. All stolen items have been added to the police database.

Sea-doo taken
A black, orange and white Sea-doo GTX155 (VIN YDV10620D515) and its trailer were stolen from the underground parking lot at the Executive Inn, located at 40900 Tantalus Road, police said.  The Sea-doo was last seen at the end of January. The complainant went to see the Sea-doo on Monday, March 20, and it was missing.  The trailer has BC licence plate UES31N.  Both stolen items were added to the police database in hopes of recovering the items.

Vehicle break-in at hospital
Someone broke into a 2008 Toyota Prius, while it was parked, unlocked, at the Squamish General Hospital on Wednesday, March 22, Squamish RCMP said.  The vehicle owner noticed the passenger seat was wet with rain and insurance papers for the vehicle were missing. Nothing else appeared to be missing.  There was no damage to the exterior of the vehicle.

Attempted ATV theft
A tarp was stolen and a suspect appears to have attempted to steal an ATV after a person living on Government Road saw someone sitting on his ATV, in the evening of Thursday, March 23, police said.  The homeowner went outside, but the individual was gone.  The ATV had been moved.  The owner's black tarp with "Rainex" written in yellow across it, which was used to cover the ATV, is missing.  The tarp is valued at $60.  There was no damage to the ATV.

Fence planks taken
Homeowners on Tantalus Road reported that their fence planks were stolen on Friday, March 24, police said.  The fence is valued at $16,000.  The owner has since asked neighbours to keep an eye on the property.  Patrols in the area are also being conducted.

Vehicle with smashed window
On Monday, March 20th Squamish police investigated a vehicle at the Porteau Cove lookout that had its window smashed.  The grey Jeep Liberty, bearing Alberta licence plate, does not appear stolen.  The rear passenger side window had been smashed.  Officers left a card with a file number on the vehicle for the owner to contact the investigating police officer.  The file remains under investigation.
