Stolen vehicles
Officers say they received word about two stolen vehicles on the same day.
On Oct. 16, Squamish RCMP were alerted that a grey Toyota 4Runner went missing from the front of its owner’s residence sometime the previous evening.
Two Squamish residents were later located inside the Toyota in East Vancouver and arrested by the Vancouver Police, according to officers.
The vehicle was recovered.
In a second, unrelated incident, a Squamish resident called RCMP to report the theft of a white VW Jetta from in front of the Save On Foods during the evening.
The Jetta was later found three kilometres up the Mamquam Forest Service Road and seized for a forensic examination.
Theft at Canadian Tire
Police have arrested one male after he allegedly shoplifted from the Canadian Tire on Oct. 21.
While on patrol in the Canadian Tire parking lot, police observed two males in a pickup.
When officers stopped the pickup, the passenger fled on foot.
After a brief but vigorous chase, police took the male into custody.
It was found he was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Impaired driving
A woman was arrested for impaired driving after police say she failed several sobriety tests on Oct. 17
Squamish RCMP say officers received complaints of a woman acting erratically in the Save On Foods parking lot.
When police arrived, they found a grey Chrysler being driven by a woman who matched the description given by the callers.
The Chrysler was stopped and officers are alleging that the woman appeared to be under the influence of drugs.
Theft from vehicle
Several vehicles were broken into in the evening of Oct. 18, according to police.
Items that are frequently stolen include tools, cell phones, sports equipment and cash, say officers.
Police are reminding people to please lock their vehicles and to remove valuables at night.
