Break and enters
Two break and enters occurred in one day.
Tools went missing from a locked shed in Valleycliffe on Dec. 4.
Police are investigating the incident.
In a separate incident that same day, a lock to the front gate of a compound was cut. Tools and equipment went missing, police say.
Officers are investigating.
Attempted break and enter
A male was trying to enter a residence through the backdoor in the early morning hours on Dec. 4, police say.
Police reviewed surveillance tape of the incident and recognized the man, officers say.
RCMP are looking for the man.
Thefts from autos
A Mitsubushi Lancer had been broken into while parked on a downtown Squamish street during the early morning hours of Dec. 5.
A garage door opener inside the car was used to open up a gate and several items were stolen from inside a garage.
In a separate incident, a pickup in Brackendale was broken into overnight on Dec. 9.
Tools, a backpack, items of clothing and a Visa went missing. The pickup was forensically examined and police are actively investigating the incident.
Dementia patient helped
A good Samaritan found a confused elderly gentleman wandering on Buckley Avenue and brought him to the Squamish RCMP Detachment on Dec. 7.
The elderly man was placed in touch with resources in the community to assist with dementia and Alzheimers.
He was later returned home and police ensured he was safe.
