Break and enters
Three break-and-enters occurred over two days.
A man who wasn’t an employee was found by staff in a Brackendale office on Dec. 11.
Police arrested the man and found he had stayed overnight after breaking into the business.
Thousands of dollars of items that were stolen from the business were found in the man’s bag.
In the second case, which happened on Dec. 12, someone entered an unlocked garage in the Garibaldi Highlands and stole tools and equipment. Police are investigating.
In the third incident, someone broke into a backyard shed and stole a mountain bike, a helmet and tools on Dec. 12.
Thefts from autos
Two days, two thefts.
A BC Parks vehicle had been broken into while parked off of Tanatulus Boulevard in the early morning hours of Dec. 12.
Several items were taken and have not yet been recovered.
In the second incident, which was on Dec. 13, thousands of dollars worth of sports equipment went missing from the back of a pickup truck parked on Cleveland Avenue and Highway 99.
Mischief
Someone allegedly caused significant damage to a washroom in a local hotel.
Staff noticed the issue when water began pouring through the ceiling.
The water was turned off and the mess was cleaned up.
Surveillance footage was reviewed and staff are confident that they have identified the party responsible for the damage.
