FIREBALL BURNS PERSON

Police say a fireball hit several people during a party after a male allegedly poured gasoline on a bonfire at Brackendale.

Squamish RCMP were informed on March 4 an individual was at the hospital and suffering from burns.

Police are investigating and charges are pending.

ATTEMPTING TO OPEN DOORS

A male was allegedly going to several different backyards while attempting to open doors and turn on water hoses on Feb. 27, Squamish RCMP say.

Police say this happened in Highlands Way North.

The suspect was arrested by police.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE

Skis, backcountry gear and electronics were stolen from a vehicle parked at the Stawamus Chief parking lot.

The complainant told police on Feb. 28 the vehicle was parked in the mid-level parking lot a few days prior.

ROCKSLIDE DAMAGES VEHICLES

A boulder about 2.5 metres in diameter slid and shattered into pieces on Highway 99 at the bottom of the canyon by the salt shed.

Several vehicles were in the area when the boulder came down and some had flat tires, broken lights, and dents from the debris falling, police say.

Squamish RCMP were informed of the incident March 3.

IMPAIRED DRIVER

A concerned driver told Squamish RCMP a vehicle was swerving in front of them all over the road on March 4.

The witness gave the direction of travel and the licence plate, and police found the vehicle in Squamish.

Police say a female driver was provided with an Immediate Roadside Prohibition with a penalty of a 90-day licence suspension, 30-day vehicle impoundment, and various fines from ICBC.
