Theft from vehicle
Someone smashed a vehicle’s window and took a pair of sunglasses.
Police, who were informed on March 7, say the vehicle was parked on Kelvin Grove Way in Lions Bay.
The complainant reported the theft after he went to his vehicle in the morning.
Two break and enters
Two residential break-and-enters occurred on Plateau Drive in Valleycliffe on March 7.
Police say in both cases, suspects entered through the garage and multiple items were taken.
Some of the items missing from both locations are: Arcteryx clothing, sunglasses, a Traxxas Rambler RC car, and two dirtbikes.
The dirtbikes are described as a red and white Honda 250CC and a kids red and white 50CC.
The thefts are believed to have occurred overnight and Squamish RCMP are looking for anyone with information about those responsible and the whereabouts of the missing items to call police.
B & E in Furry Creek
A suspect charged with possession of stolen property is in custody.
The arrest comes after numerous high value items and a vehicle went missing from a Furry Creek residence on March 8.
The missing vehicle was found in West Vancouver, and the driver was arrested by officers.
The remainder of the stolen property is missing and Squamish RCMP are looking for any information about suspicious vehicles in the Furry Creek area on March 7th to March 8th, as well as information about anyone involved in the incident.
Speeding leads to arrest
Police stopped a vehicle for speeding in Lions Bay on March 8.
During the stop, police found discrepancies in the suspect’s ID.
He was arrested on scene for obstruction, breach of conditions, and possession of a controlled substance. The male was released the following day from court. He was charged under the Motor Vehicle Act for Excessive Speed, including impoundment of his vehicle.
Shots fired
Police found two males shooting a shotgun around the 5 kilometre mark of the Mamquam FSR on March 11.
The location was believed to have been within city limits and close to a residential area. Due to this, the males were facing multiple bylaw infractions and a possible criminal investigation of Unsafe Discharge of a Firearm.
Both were released with a warning and informed of the rules, regulations, and safety concerns regarding discharging a firearm in rural areas.
