TWO DAYS, TWO THEFTS

There were two thefts from motor vehicles over the course of two days.

Police say a suspect broke the rear driver-side window of a parked vehicle and stole two packages of books on March 19.

The following day, in a separate incident, an unknown person broke the passenger window of a parked vehicle and stole a wallet that had been left on the console, RCMP say.

Officers would like to remind the public to remove valuables from view in unattended vehicles and to report any suspicious persons loitering around vehicles due to the recent thefts.

SEADOO... BUT NO SEA

Squamish RCMP were told of a Seadoo in the southbound lane of Highway 99 near Britannia Beach on March 23.

Police say the Seadoo had fallen off a trailer being pulled by a vehicle travelling north.

Prior to officers’ arrival, the Seadoo was removed from the highway and secured to the trailer by the owner.

No further incidents or damages were reported by passing vehicles.

SUSPICIOUS HIDE & SEEK

A “suspicious male” appeared to hiding property in the bushes near Discovery Way before departing the area in a dark SUV on March 24, Squamish RCMP say.

Police searched the wooded area and located electronics, which were then seized by officers. The Squamish RCMP is currently attempting to locate the owner of the electronics.

IMPAIRED DRIVER

Squamish RCMP arrested a male suspect for impaired care and control of a motor vehicle after officers allegedly smelled liquor and observed signs of impairment.

On March 24, officers observed a parked vehicle revving in a parking lot in downtown Squamish, police say.

Upon approaching the vehicle, RCMP saw the driver was slumped over the steering wheel, officers say.

The suspect was woken up, arrested and later released on a Promise to Appear.
