Mustang keyed

A Ford Mustang was keyed in the parking lot of the Tim Hortons on Progress Way, Squamish RCMP say.

On April 4, a driver told officers her car was parked outside the restaurant and when she returned to the vehicle there was a large scratch on the passenger panel.

Paraglider & outdoor gear abandoned

A paraglider and a large amount of expensive outdoor gear was found off Mamquam Road in a ravine on April 4.

The items appear to have been in a vehicle roof storage bin.

There was an extensive amount of camping and climbing gear inside, RCMP say.

Police are asking anyone who knows who this belongs to, to let the Squamish RCMP know so they can return it to its owner. Call (604) 892-6100.

Cyclist injured

A cyclist injured his head after falling off his bike on April 6.

The cyclist was riding on Mamquam Road by Willow Crescent when he fell, and police say the male was not wearing a helmet and therefore suffered a cut to his head.

BC Ambulance transported him to Squamish General Hospital.

Squamish RCMP would like to remind the public bicycle helmets are mandatory when riding a bike, and if found in contravention riders could face a fine.

Hit and run

A silver Ford pickup truck with a canopy backed into another vehicle on the 1300-block of Pemberton Avenue in the evening of April 7, RCMP say.

The driver of the Ford left without notifying the owner of the other vehicle, according to a witness who spoke with police.

Squamish RCMP are looking for information to identify the truck as well as the driver.
