Police say a white man and woman in their 20s or early 30s may have used counterfeit money to buy something in town.

A local business reported the pair to police on May 2.

The suspects were driving an older model white Ford Escape.

Squamish RCMP receives a number of these types of calls throughout the year and all businesses are requested to call the police when they believe counterfeit currency has been used.  Tips to identify counterfeit bills can be obtained from www.bankofcanada.ca/banknotes/counterfeit-prevention.

The items were reported stolen on May 2, but officers suspect the 16-foot Runabout kayaks may have been taken a number a weeks prior.

This is the second report in two weeks of kayaks being stolen from residences in Lions Bay and Squamish RCMP would like to warn the residents to be aware of items left outside and lock all garages and sheds.
