CUTTING RAIL TRACKS

A person was arrested for mischief after railroad tracks were allegedly being cut in Paradise Valley.

Squamish RCMP say a CN Rail worker called officers to the area on June 8.

Police found two males a short distance away in a Ford pickup truck.

RCMP say both were known to police.

The person who was arrested was released with a court date for August in North Vancouver.

DISTURBANCE COMPLAINTS

Squamish RCMP responded to over half a dozen calls to Pavillion Park in downtown between June 5 and June 11.

There were multiple complaints of drinking in the area and disturbances.

Squamish RCMP has stepped up patrols of the area and ask the public to call in any incidents they see.

CAPSIZED BOAT

A small vessel capsized in the river near the Squamish Yacht Club, casting two men into the water on June 7.

Officers went to the scene and saw the pair being pulled from the water by a tugboat and another small vessel.

The riders were cold but uninjured.

Squamish RCMP would like to remind people that even though the temperatures are warm, the water is still very cold. Ensure you have life jackets, tell someone your plan, and have the ability to call for help.

OCEAN DRONE

A drone was lost around Highway 99 at Tunnel Point on June 5.

The owner lost sight of the drone as it headed towards the ocean.

MUSICAL PIGEON FREED

A man was playing the fiddle with a pigeon tied to him with a string on June 10.

Squamish SPCA informed him he could not keep a wild animal tied up, so the fiddler cut the pigeon from the string.

The pigeon flew back into the fiddle case while the man continued to play music.
