Shirtless Scream mask male

RCMP are looking out for what they consider to be a “suspicious” male seen in Valleycliffe behind the Westway apartments on July 2.

Police say a concerned parent reported a male in a ‘Scream’ mask who scared her daughter.

The shirtless male, who has a heavier build, was wearing a ‘Scream’ mask and a black backpack.

Officers are asking the public if to pass on any information on the incident to police.

Damaged gate

Officers found a gate on Skookum Creek FSR damaged on July 5.

Police say the damage to the gate would cost about $5,000.

RCMP say a possible suspect vehicle is an accessorized Jeep.

Missing golf cart

Quest University reported a stolen black golf cart in the evening of July 7.

Police say the golf cart had been taken from the parkade on the property by a male at around 4:15 pm that day.

The vehicle’s plate number is 04355X.

Fraudulent caller ID

Squamish residents have been reporting a new Canada Revenue Agency scam as of July 10.

In the hoax, the caller states there’s a warrant out for the victim’s arrest for not paying taxes.

But there’s a convincing twist — the caller has been able to put the Squamish RCMP number on the call display.

Neither the Squamish RCMP nor CRA uses this method for tax payment, and if you have a concern about something such as this please contact the police.
