Impaired driver flips vehicle

Following multiple reports, a driver was arrested for allegedly driving impaired on Nov. 12 on the highway north of Squamish.

Officers eventually found the vehicle upside down in a ditch by Brohm Lake.

Police arrested the suspect, and took the person to hospital.

The accused was released with a court date expected in the next few months.

Squatter evicted

An illegal squatter on Government Road, near the airport, was kicked out on Nov. 7.

RCMP were on scene to supervise the eviction.

Loitering and littering

Officers say loitering and littering at Pavillion Park have increased over the last few months.

Squamish RCMP say they’ve seen repeat calls to the park during various times of the year for behaviours such as drinking, loitering, and nuisance.

The police are working with partnerships in the community to draft some solutions to this continual issue.
