April’s prevent auto crime campaign
Bait cars are everywhere, say Squamish RCMP, as April is Auto Crime month.
As part of the Bait Car program, police are using cars, bikes, and tools to deter theft.
Officers are urging the public to be proactive in preventing thieves.
“Many of these thefts involved insecure cars with valuables inside such as bank cards, gift cards, sport equipment, keys, or tools,” says Cpl. Angela Kermer in a release. “Always take the necessary steps to ensure your vehicle is safe and secure to minimize being a target of crime, and report any suspicious activity.”
