Alcohol theft, assault
An employee was assaulted after trying to stop two males from stealing alcohol from a liquor store in the 38000 block of Cleveland Avenue on Wednesday, Feb. 4. The males fled the store with one bottle of liquor after the altercation, police said. Squamish RCMP are reviewing surveillance video and have detailed descriptions from witnesses. The investigation is progressing, and the identification and arrest of the suspects are expected soon, police said.
Home break and enter
A bedroom was ransacked at a home in the 40000 block of Kalodon Road on Friday, Feb. 6 sometime between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., RCMP said. External hard drives were among the $3,000 worth of items taken.
Evidence was collected from the scene for forensic identification, police said. Police suspect the thieves entered through an unlocked door or bedroom window.
Bikes and tools stolen
A men’s black 20-speed Giant Trance mountain bike and a black and gold, 11-speed Giant Trance Advanced bike were among items taken from an unlocked garage in a break and enter on Saturday, Feb. 7.
The theft occurred in the 41000 block of Brennan Road sometime between 9 a.m. and midnight, RCMP reported.
An orange Stihl model 260 20” chainsaw, an orange Stihl TS700 14” concrete cut-off saw, a Milwaukee M18 Fuel Sawzal reciprocating saw, a Milwaukee F16A Fusion Air nail gun, a Milwakie M18 Charger radio, a Paslode nail gun, an Astro pneumatic rivet gun and a Husky brand tool pouch with various tools were also taken, according to the report.
Police are awaiting more information about the items but estimate that thousands of dollars worth of items were stolen.
Liquor stolen
About 10 bottles of liquor were stolen from a business in the 41000 block of Government Road sometime overnight on Sunday, Feb. 8, according to police. A rock was used to pry open a back door, according to police.
RCMP are awaiting additional information about the items stolen.
Jewelry stolen
Jewelry was stolen from the glove box of a vehicle parked in the lot of a hotel in the 38000 block of Progress Way sometime overnight on Thursday, Feb. 5.
The vehicle may have been left unlocked, police said.
Tire check initiative
RCMP conducted “Stay Safe” tire checks on Friday, Feb. 6 between 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at the Alice Lake chain-up area. Hundreds of vehicles were checked, and six violation tickets and five warnings were issued for vehicles with inadequate tire tread, police said.
