Man attacked in alley
A man suffered a broken nose and a hurt shoulder when two unidentified men attacked him on Saturday, Dec. 5, police said. The assault took place in the early morning hours in the alley in the 37900 block of Second Avenue, Squamish RCMP report. The investigation is ongoing.
Threats uttered
Police received a report of a death threat that was uttered online on Wednesday, Dec. 2, Squamish RCMP said. An investigation revealed that the offence occurred in Vancouver police jurisdiction; therefore, all information was passed on to the Vancouver Police Department.
Tax scam alert
A Squamish woman received several calls from someone claiming to be from the Canada Revenue Agency stating that her business made a tax error, according to police.
The caller was aggressive and directed the victim to a website, www.cra.gc.mybusinessaccount.ca, which seemed legitimate and asked for personal details. Police suspect this was a scam. All suspected scams should be reported to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre online or by calling 1-888-495-8501, police said.
Business B&Es
Police attended a break and enter at a business in the 39500 block of Galbraith Road on Monday, Nov. 30, police said. The break-in happened over the previous weekend, according to Squamish RCMP. A lock was cut on the door to storage container on the property. Nothing was taken.
A similar break-in occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 1 at a business in the 390000 block of Discovery Way, according to police. In this case, a storage container was broken into, and again nothing was stolen, from what police could determine. The investigation is ongoing.
