Man peers in window
A woman reported that her daughter saw someone looking through the window of their residence on Perth Drive on Wednesday, Nov. 2, Squamish RCMP said. The man is described as Caucasian, in his 20s, with a thin face. The mother was concerned because a few months ago the family found a twig in the weather stripping of their door.
Police looked for the man, but could not locate him.
fled from police
A woman who lives on Government Road called the Squamish RCMP to report that someone was inside her Chevrolet Traverse, which was parked in her driveway on Thursday, Nov. 3, police said. The suspect fled before the police arrived and nothing was stolen from the vehicle. A description is not available.
Squamish RCMP are reminding Squamish residents to lock their vehicles and remove valuables to reduce crimes from taking place.
Dog barking in hotel
The Squamish RCMP responded to a noise complaint at the August Jack Hotel, located at 37947 Cleveland Ave., on Friday, Nov. 4. The person called to report that a dog would not stop barking in one of the rooms. Officers entered the room.
No one was inside and the dog stopped barking. The room was secured and the police left.
Firecracker scare
A man said someone shot a firecracker at his vehicle while he was driving on Westway Avenue on Nov. 5, police said. When his vehicle was struck, the man saw some kids in the lefthand window of an address on Westway Avenue, but he was unable to confirm if these were the youth responsible for the mischief. There was no damage reported to his vehicle.
Hot tubber?
An off duty police officer called the Squamish RCMP on Saturday, Nov. 5 to report flashlight beams were seen on the property of an address on Glacier View Drive. The police arrived within five minutes and searched the property. The entire home was secure and no one was located on the property. However, the police observed the hot tub lid was partially on and this may have been related to the incident. Police confirmed that no break-and-enter had occurred.
Help with SUV fire
Squamish RCMP officers drove to Lions Bay to assist with an SUV that was on fire on Wednesday, Nov. 2.
Police arrived and saw a 1999 Toyota Rav 4 with a blown radiator. The owner called for a tow truck prior to police arriving and it was towed back to Whistler.
