Medical records accessed A break-in at a storage facility at the old Diamond Head Clinic in the 1300 block of Pemberton Avenue was reported Thursday, Jan.15.

A break-in at a storage facility at the old Diamond Head Clinic in the 1300 block of Pemberton Avenue was reported Thursday, Jan.15. It is unclear exactly when the break-in occurred, but it was sometime over the past several months, police said. There was no sign of forced entry.
Patient records were found scattered outside of the location and apparently have now been secured by the building’s owner, according to police. The clinic had been vacant for over a year, and squatters had possibly been using the building for shelter, police said.

Residential B&E
Frozen food and a men’s 21-speed red and black Norco mountain bike, valued at $1000, were stolen from a home in the 40000 block of Garibaldi Way sometime on Tuesday, Jan. 13, RCMP said. The suspect or suspects got into the home through an unlocked door.

Kicked-in door
A 31-year-old New Westminster man is facing charges after a back door at a home in the 38000 block of Buckley Avenue was kicked in Friday, Jan. 16 at about 1:40 p.m.
When confronted, the man fled in a small black hatchback vehicle, last seen heading north on Buckley Avenue towards Government Road. Based on the details provided to police by a witness, a suspect was located a short distance from the scene on Edgewater Drive and arrested.

Theft from vehicle
A suspect stole a black backpack, a pocketknife, a small shovel, clothing and a first aid kit from a 2005 Ford parked in a lot in the 1300 block of Main Street, sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 4:20 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17. The estimated value of the items stolen was $500, according to police. No damage was done to the vehicle.

Wallet stolen
 A wallet containing cash, numerous gift cards, personal identification and bank cards was stolen from the glove compartment of an unlocked vehicle parked in the 40000 block of Government Road, sometime between 9 - 10 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17, according to police.
