Police briefs: Women assaulted; motorbike stolen; B&Es...

Women assaulted Three Lower Mainland women were arrested following an assault of four women working in the 2100 block of Paradise Valley Road on Monday, August 10, RCMP reported. Charges of assault are being recommended, police said.

Motorbike stolen
An investigation is ongoing into the theft of a motorcycle from a repair shop in the 38900 block Progress Way on Tuesday, August 11. The motorbike was outside the business and had a cable lock cut by the thief, police said. Officers found the stolen motorcycle and identified a suspect following an investigation, which continues.

B&E at business
A man was arrested after an alarm led police to a break and enter in progress at a business in the 37900 block of Cleveland Avenue on Wednesday, August 12. The suspect broke a window to enter, said police. A suspect was located in the building and was in possession of break-in tools as well as property from a residential break-in on July 5 in Vancouver, Squamish RCMP reported. Numerous charges are being recommended.

Credit card fraud
A business Chevron credit card was used fraudulently for $2,700 worth of gas between July 27 and August 13, police said. An investigation continues to determine who is responsible for the transactions.

Home B&E
A home in the 40500 block of Highlands Way north was broken into and rummaged through while the owners were out of town over the weekend prior to Thursday, August 13.  Entry was gained through a window. The crime is still being investigated.

Suspicious activity
A man was arrested and is now facing charges of breach of his probation conditions after a report of a suspicious person looking into parked vehicles in the 1300 block of Zenith Road. An officer tracked down the suspect and police identified him as a well known property criminal on probation.

Bike found on trail
A bike that was found on a trail in Coho Park was stolen from a house in the 40300 block of Park Crescent, Squamish RCMP said.  The person who found it recognized it as belonging to a neighbour who was away and then discovered the house had been broken into, prompting a call to police on Sunday, August 16. Police conducted a forensic examination and the results are pending, police said.

Truck theft
A work truck that was used by an employee on Sunday, August 16 at a construction site in the 38000 block of Cleveland Avenue was not returned, police said. It was later discovered that the company credit card has been used to make cash advances in the amount of $2,000, police report. The matter is still under investigation.
