Quest University has taken a momentous step towards its fall 2007 start-up by admitting its first batch of future students.Haley Jardine of Vancouver and Sarah Graham of Snohomish, Washington, are the first to be admitted to Quest, which will welcome its inaugural class to its Garibaldi Highlands campus in September.

With deadlines for the fall academic term looming, additional students are now being admitted regularly. Students have until May 1 to confirm their enrollment.

Quest's president, Dr. David Strangway told the Chief in a previous interview that local Squamish students were encouraged to apply.

"We are thrilled to be able to make this announcement. Haley and Sarah are the exact kinds of students we had hoped would be interested in Quest," said Mark Campbell, Dean of Enrollment Management.

Jardine, currently in Grade 12 at Magee Secondary School in Vancouver, has distinguished herself as captain of her basketball and field-hockey teams, and is an honour roll student. "During the first preview day at Quest I had the opportunity to meet some of the faculty and staff and I was very impressed," said Jardine.

Quest's second "Preview Day," which includes a tour of the campus and a chance to sample the university's unique style of teaching, is on Saturday (Feb. 3) from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
