Squamish RCMP last week arrested a Squamish man in connection with an incidence of suspected "road rage."
Last Wednesday (Feb. 26) at around 6:30 p.m., police received a report of an incident that happened on Highway 99 and Garibaldi Way, RCMP Sgt. Wayne Pride wrote in a statement.
The driver of a vehicle had allegedly tried to run another driver off the road, cut the driver off, and threatened him with physical violence, Pride said. Police arrested a 33-year-old Squamish man in connection with the incident. The investigation is ongoing and charges have yet to be laid, Pride said.
Items stolen from truck box
On Wednesday (Feb. 26), police received a report of a pickup truck having been broken into overnight on Monday (Feb. 24) while parked in the 1200 block of Main Street. The truck's back canopy was pried open. Stolen were a Stihl MS362 chainsaw, a red MEC Gore-Tex jacket, a blue, 40-litre dry bag and miscellaneous tools.
Theft attempt fails
On Friday (Feb. 28), police received a report that a 1998 Toyota pickup truck had been broken into while parked in an underground lot in the 40000 block of Willow Crescent. The incident occurred between Feb. 27 at 4 p.m. and Feb. 28 at 8 a.m. The vehicle had been rummaged through and the ignition tampered with in an apparent theft attempt. Nothing was stolen and the only damage done to the vehicle was to the ignition.
Items, cash stolen
On Friday (Feb. 28), police received another report of a vehicle having been broken into overnight. A Toyota Tundra had been broken into while parked in an underground lot in the 1200 block of Main Street. A rear window was smashed to gain entry. Stolen were a Mammoth backpack, miscellaneous backcountry skiing items, two Patagonia jackets, a pair of gloves, a construction level and approximately $400 in cash. Police are investigating.
