The RCMP is seeking residents' help in identifying a man accused of sexually assaulting a 22-year-old woman over the weekend. At 1:45 a.m.

The RCMP is seeking residents' help in identifying a man accused of sexually assaulting a 22-year-old woman over the weekend. At 1:45 a.m. on Sunday (April 1), the victim was walking in the area of Victoria Street and Third Avenue when the suspect approached her, grabbed her arm and asked if she wanted to purchase drugs.

The woman pulled herself free and began walking away when the suspect grabbed her again and began groping her. The victim again broke free and ran to her downtown residence. The suspect male is described as aged late 40 to 60 years old. He has shoulder length grey hair with scars on face. He's approximately 5 foot 6 or 7 inches, has a deep voice and was wearing a baseball cap.Anyone who has seen a man fitting the description, or witnessed the assault in the area Victoria Street and Third Avenue in the early hours April 1, or has any information about the incident, is asked to contact Squamish Detachment at 604-892-6100.
